Different situations and challenges happen every day during the work, but as part of the beauty world, we will agree that make-up themes account for one large percentage. Clients who come to your center for analysis often have make up products on theface. No matter how minimal it is, we come to the same dilemma.

A very common question concerns the effect of make-up products on the measurement results. It is recommended not to remove makeup before performing the measurement, because in that way client mechanically removes the surface layer of the skin and affect the measuring values. A better option is to do an analysis with the existing make-up, which can interfere with the interpretation of the results of certain parameters, where depending on the texture and intensity itself, it can affect the level of sebum, or pigment changes and melanin levels if the mattifying foundation is on the surface of the skin. Of course, you can repeat these parameters in the next analysis, or with conversation and consultation with the client take interference into account when interpreting the reference values.

Before the next analysis, inform the client about the correct procedure so that the protocol is fully fulfilled:

✔ What is an ideal situation and what you can say to clients as a recommendation is to clean their face 1.5-2 hours before arrival and not to put any product on the face. In the meantime, all physiological processes will be established and the measured values will be fully valid.
